Muffins, cookies, and a whole lot of love
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the students of class 6ab took part in a special baking lesson in their English class with Mrs. Fischer. Instead of the usual classroom routine, the students headed off to the VHS-kitchen, where they put on their aprons and prepared a variety of Valentine’s-themed baked goods, including cookies, cupcakes, and muffins.
Using English-language recipes, the students were able to practise their language skills in a fun and practical way. They learned new vocabulary related to baking, ingredients, and cooking instructions and applied it directly while working.
The baking activity also had a very positive effect on the class atmosphere. Working in groups encouraged cooperation, communication, and mutual support. Students helped each other with measuring ingredients, decorating their baked goods, and cleaning up afterwards.
Overall, the Valentine’s Day baking class was a great success. The students not only improved their English skills but also created sweet treats and even sweeter memories.
