This year’s cooking class of the 6AG English group was all about tasting the world. Under the motto “Snack Around the World,” the students prepared their favourite snack recipes from different countries and cultures. In advance, they worked in small groups, presenting their dishes to their classmates in English, including the required ingredients as well as the kitchen tools and equipment needed.
On 27 January, the time had finally come to put theory into practice. During the first three lessons, the students cooked together in the VHS kitchen and turned it into a place full of international flavours and good vibes. A wide variety of delicious snacks was prepared: Asian spring rolls, Italian bruschetta and ciabatta, Greek salad with tzatziki, crumble cookies from the United States, Belgian waffles and tasty chocolate balls. Of course, pizza rolls could not be missing either.
All in all, it was a fun and active morning. The students not only enjoyed cooking and tasting international snacks, but also practised their English in a real-life, hands-on setting. A perfect combination of language learning, teamwork and culinary creativity!
